Responding to the Challenge of Dopamine Receptor Blockers

In describing the range of causes for movement disorder syndromes, these authors say that the evidence does not always restrict your options to removing the offending neuroleptics or changing drugs. In some cases, they suggest, consider symptomatic or suppressive treatments such as deep brain stimulation. The evidence for these is limited but “encouraging,” they say.
