TYPES

• TAH:  total abdominal (removal of uterus and cervix via abdominal incision)
• SCH: supracervical or subtotal (TAH sparing the cervix)
• VH:  vaginal (removal of uterus and cervix through the vagina)
• LAVH: vaginal hysterectomy assisted by laparoscopy
• LH: laparoscopic (uterus and cervix dissected, ligated, removed by laparoscopy)
• Radical:  May include lymph nodes, upper vagina, and omentum
• Oophorectomy/salpino-oophorectomy: Removal of ovaries/ovaries and fallopian tubes
